The Sweet Children of the Dump

My roommates work in an area in Guatemala City that is near the local trash dump.  Most of the families either work in the dump or on a truck that goes to the dump.  Laura, my roommate, is an incredible photographer and I was looking through her pictures today so I wanted to share some with y'all.  These children all leave in the local neighborhoods and they are growing up literally living off of the trash of the city.  Yet their smiles and energy is contagious.  The organization they work for is called Young Life or Vida Joven here in Guatemala.  They work more with the teenagers and young mothers (there are numerous teenage mothers in these communities).  If you want to learn more about what you can do to help out with these cute faces please let me know.  They are always looking for support as simple as shoes and baby formula and also for people who can sponsor some of these kids to go to school.
