Just getting ready to start the difficult parts! Love the sun and warmth!

Volcan de Agua, Volcan de Fuego and Volcan Acatenango in the distance! Plus some towns... what a clear day to climb!

Basically we got to the old crater and had to cross the sand as you can see. On the right side you can see what looks like some ants in a line... that would be us in about an hour! We climbed up loose gravel to reach the new flow. It was worth it, but tough! Just a couple bruised here and there. And everyone made it back alive! WAHOO!

The lava. Seriously incredible. The lava was flowing in rivers. We burned sticks and tried to penetrate the surface with rocks, but it did not work. Lava is so thick and hot... that sounds stupid, but it is!

3 Greene boys and a Gringa! They were covered in dust and ash from the climb... plus they fell down every 2 minutes just because they were kids. I love having them around.

So after we spent the morning climbing, we made our way over the spa. We had appointments for masages at 4:00 and so we had about 1 1/2 hours to just relax in the pools. Don't worry, we showered before entering. It was the perfect way to finish our day of fun. Plus those muscles didn't feel as bad the next day.
Laura and I relaxing...
