Tecpan- Mayan Ruins

I was able to go with the mission team to Tecpan- a Mayan village outside of the city. We spent the morning walking around this structures and actually seeing a group of indigenous people holding a sacrifice. See the burning flesh of the chicken was a bit unsettling, but it was still an experience. The Mayan name of this village is Iximche. It contains numerous plazas and, but much of the village remains underground or at least under the hills.

Love the pictures! Looks like you are getting to view a lot of the country. We just received information on a new child from World Vision that we requested from Guatamala (sp?). We are so excited. Maybe one day you will be able to find her. Have a great weekend.

Love ya,
